Popular Brands of Action Figures

Action figures are model character figures with poses that a person can play with. These models are usually made of plastic and are based on fictional characters in various media. They are marketed primarily to boys but also to adult collectors. There are several popular brands of action figures like kingdom deathCadwallon, etc. Some are Transformers, Micro Change, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Masters of the Universe.

Transformers

Transformers’ action figures have been around since 1984. Initially released as Micro Change, Diaclone, and Robot Master, the line was renamed and re-released under the name Transformers. Hasbro acquired distribution rights for all of these toy lines in North America and re-branded them under the Transformers brand name. The company partnered with Marvel Comics to produce a backstory and use Bob Budiansky to write character descriptions for the toys.

The Japanese release of Transformers was successful, but sales in the U.S. were not as good. Hasbro looked elsewhere and signed a deal with Bandai for the rights to Japanese toylines. The company was a direct competitor of Takara, the Japanese company responsible for the cartoon.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Playmates Toys produces action figures based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. These figures are highly detailed and look like the characters from the cartoon series. They are a great way for little ones to play with the characters. They also make great gifts for kids who love the show.

The TMNT have been popular since the original comic book series was first released, and fans love to collect their favourite heroes and villains. They’re perfect for pizza parties, ninja training, and saving the world. The action figures come with cool accessories, too.

There are numerous TMNT action figures available, and the selection of characters is growing all the time. One of the most popular lines is made by Playmates Toys. In addition to the original three turtles, there are also figures of other villains from the show. TMNT villain Bebop is among these. These are very realistic, with realistic paint applications and removable accessories. They also feature faux-leather clothing and over 25 points of articulation.

Masters of the Universe

Masters of the Universe action figures have become a popular staple of toy collectors’ shelves over the years. These highly detailed figures are approximately 5.5 inches tall and feature 16 moveable joints. The action figures are designed for imaginative play and have vintage styling with new updates. They come in a variety of colours and designs.

The Masters of the Universe franchise was originally created by Mattel and has enjoyed a renaissance in popularity with the success of the Netflix animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Mattel has continued to produce action figures, most recently creating exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con. Fans can look forward to evening more toy releases in the future. Nerd Reactor went on a visit to Mattel’s headquarters in El Segundo, California, to see what new toys are coming soon.

Micro Change

Micro Change was a line of plastic action figures that were produced by Takara. They were inspired by cartoon characters, including Microman. Micro Change figures were objects that were capable of transforming into robots. Micro Change toys were discontinued, but the designs of the characters still remain popular, even among collectors today.

The Microchange line was introduced in 1983 to accompany the Microman series. The line was a sub-line of Takara’s New Microman toy line, which consisted of 3.75″ action figures, robots, and vehicles. Microman action figures were made on a 1:1 scale and included numerous disguise modes, including vehicles and household items.

Darth Vader

If your little boy or girl enjoys Star Wars, he will love a Darth Vader action figure. This 6-inch scale figure is inspired by the infamous Sith Lord, who seeks to crush the rebel alliance. This toy is part of the Black Series line of Star Wars toys. This collection features multiple points of articulation, premium detail, and original Kenner branding.

The figures come with sound effects and motion-activated Lightsabers. There is also a QR code, and mini-comic included. Darth Vader is one of the most recognizable and iconic Star Wars characters. In the movies, he helps the evil galactic empire control the galaxy.
